This Privacy Policy explains how MEENAKSHI SUBRAMANIAN GROUP trading as Easy Event Checklist("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use easyeventchecklist.comand our services (the "Service").

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

2.1 Information you provide

Email address — when you submit our email forms (e.g., to receive the free Event Planning Basics PDF).
Name and email — when you purchase a paid product. This is collected by LemonSqueezy as our payment processor and shared with us for order fulfillment.
Payment information — credit/debit card numbers, billing address. We never see or store this — it is collected and processed entirely by LemonSqueezy.
Communications — when you email us or contact us via WhatsApp, we receive whatever you send.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Server logs — IP address, user-agent, pages visited, timestamp. Used for security and operational analytics.
Anonymous usage analytics — page views, session duration, geographic country (not city), device type. Collected via Vercel Analytics, no personal identifiers.
Local storage— your in-browser checklist edits (event details, tasks, deadlines) are saved in your browser's localStorage. We never see this data; it stays on your device.

To send occasional planning tips and product updates (only if you opt in — unsubscribe in any email)
To respond to support requests
To prevent fraud and secure the Service
To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, court orders)

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your email with third parties for their marketing.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR / DPDP Act)

Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential analytics
Contract — to fulfill paid orders

Legal obligation — to comply with tax and regulatory requirements

5. Who we share data with

We use the following third-party processors. Each is bound by data protection terms and processes data only on our instructions.

LemonSqueezy (payments) — processes all paid transactions as our Merchant of Record. Receives name, email, billing address, payment information. LemonSqueezy privacy policy.
Vercel (hosting and analytics) — hosts the website. Processes server logs and anonymous traffic analytics. Vercel privacy policy.
Hostinger (DNS / domain registrar) — manages our domain registration and DNS records.
Email service providers — when wired (planned: Resend for transactional, optional broadcast tool for newsletter) we will update this list. We notify users in advance of any material change.

We may also disclose data when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

6. International data transfers

Some of our processors are located outside your country (e.g., Vercel and LemonSqueezy operate from the United States). Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other approved safeguards under GDPR / DPDP Act.

7. Data retention

Marketing email list — until you unsubscribe
Order records — 7 years (tax and accounting obligations)
Support emails — 2 years after the conversation ends
Server logs — typically 30 days

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have rights including:

Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
Rectification — correct inaccurate data
Erasure— request deletion (the "right to be forgotten")
Portability — receive your data in a machine- readable format
Objection — object to certain processing
Restriction — limit how we process your data

11. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard practices: HTTPS / TLS for all connections, encrypted database storage by our processors, access controls, regular security reviews, and prompt response to any security incidents. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data breaches

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authorities within 72 hours of becoming aware, as required by GDPR and the DPDP Act.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect changes. Material changes will be communicated via the website and, for material changes affecting existing customers, via email.

14. Complaints

If you believe we have not complied with applicable data protection law, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In India, this is the Data Protection Board. In the EU/UK, this is your country's Information Commissioner.
